The change in the iPod market: Sustainability or not?

The iPod has been around for quite a substantial amount of time so far, and has been one of the essential tools of our lives. In addition for the iPod to being an important part of our lives, it also saved the Apple brand from bankruptcy, and growing to become a well known brand. However, it going to be nearly 10 years after the first iPod has entered the market, and judgements have been brought up saying that the ‘new’ iPhone has been challenging the iPod.
Originality of the iPod is very distinctive, simple touch-pads with only a circular pad and buttons. Simple and easy. However, the simplicity of this iPod may cause some danger. Due to the plainness of its design, it can be bluntly ‘copied’ by other designers and be incorporated with better prerequisite, and possibly with an affordable price. So far these 10 years, the name of the brand has been sustaining the company.
Overall, I believe the era for the iPods are over, just because of its simplicity in its design. I understand that the purpose of the iPods are just plainly, focussed on its simplicity but with this, will not sustain over an adequate amount of time. This requires the Apple company to keep coming up with the latest ideas that can be an appeal for the brand.
